Advancing Design Education in Ireland

Design Educators Ireland (DEI) is the representative body of Third Level design education and research providers in Ireland.

We seek to contribute to the development of design education and research in Ireland, enhancing its standing and stature as well as supporting its engagement with industry, government and wider society.

Established in 2018, the DEI provides a unique forum for debate and the exchange of ideas and best practice affecting the education of designers in Ireland. There are over 5000 students and researchers currently studying design at Irish Universities, Institutes of Technology and Colleges, and the sector is rapidly expanding to meet the needs of industry and humanity.

DEI’s mission is to contribute to the development of the design sector and community, its standing and stature as well as its engagement with the outside world.

Our Council and Institutional Membership is comprised of senior academics, researchers and practitioners across all design disciplines.
