Our Mission

DEI’s mission is to contribute to the development of the design sector and community, its standing and stature as well as its engagement with the wider world.

We aim to:

• Provide effective leadership and support for design disciplines in third-level education in Ireland.

• Provide a collective voice for and on behalf of third level design education in Ireland.

• Actively contribute to the development of the Irish design education community, enhancing its standing and stature as well as supporting its engagement with industry, government and wider society.

• Act as a conduit for dialogue between education, the creative industries and government.

• Advance the development of the design community in third-level education and beyond.

• Connect design research, practice, policy and people to harness creative and cultural resources to shape social, cultural and economic change.
