Together for Design: Digital, Product and Strategic Design Skills of the Future, 2020

This EGFSN study examines the future demand for design skills over the years 2020 to 2025. Design is an important driver of economic growth, integral to both industry and society. It adds strategic value, creative thinking and innovation from the earliest stages of development through to the final delivery of products and services. The report features a review of the design skills of students in Ireland, an assessment of relevant national and international policies to support and promote design, and the main drivers impacting on current and future design skills.

Winning by Design, 2017

This EGFSN report examines the design skills requirements for firms to be innovative and competitive in global markets. The objective of the study was to establish exactly what is meant by design and the extent to which it is pervasive in our society and economy. The report outlines a number of recommendations to enhance and develop design in Ireland.

Ireland – the Design Island, 2017

This consultation paper encompasses the breadth of issues that need to be examined in order to develop a National Design Strategy for Ireland and has been structured under four themes, which reflect the key challenges faced by the sector: Policy & Promotion; Research & Innovation; Education through to Enterprise; and Society, Culture & Collaboration.
